Obviously the number one is...  is how much is a pet portrait going to cost?

To give you a sense of the cost and what is involved a few things you need to keep in mind. Every portrait is different -a unique dog a unique portrait, It's not a product in the service industry, it’s a piece of art: for that reason It is not an equation based on the size of the canvas and the hours  it takes to paint or draw, its an artistic collaboration between you and I in which you to will have to do some work and during the process a  portrait will emerge in which we both can be proud of. As a rule 16” x 16” and 20” x 16” are the smallest canvas sizes I would like to work on, and a work with a canvas this size should be no less than CA$1000.00.  The largest..well sky is the i limit.  HAVE A MORE DETAILED COST BREAK-DOWN

How long does it take to complete a portrait?

Again this is not canvas size= hours to complete.  A lot depends on the type of photos I am provided with and the design of the painting composition something you will be actively involved. I have found that sometimes things fall into place quickly, with others there is more of a struggle. Once the design is in place and we are both happy with it, I estimate at least 8 weeks should be allocated for the painting before it is shipped off.

How and when do I pay?

Do you paint other subjects?

05

I prefer an uncomplicated and simply worded commission agreement contract signed and I flexible in the amount of deposit and and the payment structure, but between 25% and 50%  total fee as a deposit depending on the overall price. This ensures me that you are serious about the commission and binds me to that commitment as well as allocating time aside to begin the process. The contract will outline my responsibilities as well as yours and a time-line. When the composition of the painting is finalized and before starting the canvas painting,  I ask for a further half of the total commission price, the final outstanding amount is required before shipping it of to you. During the painting process I will provide visual updates on the progress..

I will send you information to pay the deposit and later the other amounts, I prefer e-transit if you live in Canada its simple and straightforward . If you prefer an alternative method and you live outside of Canada I have set up a https://alexandrepaul.myshopify.com to take care of payment methods and shipping

Yes I do. But the purpose of this website is to focus on this subject. I have assembled a few painting and drawings that I still have hanging on my walls and you can view them here
